A young married couple dreamed of hosting people visiting Yangon. Do you recognize the couple's house in the picture? It is our Reception now with 3 function rooms above and W Bistro beside!
They built a 3-storey inn in the backyard opposite the garage. It had 16 guest rooms, a reception and a small restaurant. Through word of mouth, guests started coming. The couple's dream started to take shape.
They tore down their garage and added a second wing with 20 spacious rooms and a restaurant. Then, the Asian Financial Crisis and sanctions from US and Europe hit Myanmar. The family struggled.
For over a decade, they perservered, hopeful that things would get better. With great encouragement from the staff and guests, the couple finally added a third wing with 22 new rooms and renovated the old wings.
We renovated again. The restaurant and kitchen was redesigned with great help from family friends. The restaurant was relocated next to the lobby.
The old restaurant was converted into a function room that can host meetings for up to 40 people. We also added 3 more meeting rooms of different sizes above the lobby.
We closed our doors for 3 months in order to minimize the spread of Covid-19. This is the first time since for us to stop our operations and turn back reservations.
During the closure, we renovated once again, deep cleaned the whole hotel and updated our look.
