Pagodas
There's a strict dress code when going to pagodas and monasteries. You are required to wear:
long pants or skirts that cover your legs
sleeved shirts or blouses
Bargaining
Always bargain even if the salespeople say the prices are fixed. Sometimes, you can get items at 10% of the quoted price.
Street Food
Street food is not recommended as there is a lack of clean water to wash beside the streets. Bring medicine in case you want to try street food.
Walk Around Town
There are open drains and holes in the pavement. Please watch your steps on the pavement.
Rainy Season
Rainy Season in Yangon lasts from May to October. Please bring Waterproof Jackets, Umbrellas and Ponchos. Flooding is common in the city.
