Our Story Started With...
A young married couple dreamed of providing accommodation for travelers visiting Yangon. They wanted to start a home business that would allow them to take care of their children while they worked.
1993
Do you recognize the young couple's house in the picture? Today, the house's ground floor is Winner Inn's reception and the upper floor has private dining rooms for W Bistro.
1994
They built a 3-storey inn in the backyard opposite the garage. It had 16 guest rooms, a reception and a small restaurant. Family and friends started bringing guests through word of mouth and that's how it all started!
1997
Good business prompted the couple to tear down the garage to add a second building with 20 spacious rooms and a restaurant. Unfortunately, the Asian Financial Crisis and sanctions hit Myanmar; we struggled.
2013
For over a decade, we perservered, hopeful that things would get better. With great encouragement from the staff and guests, we finally added a third wing with 22 new rooms and renovated the old wings.
2019
Werenovated again. The restaurant and kitchen was redesigned with great help from family friends. The restaurant was relocated next to the lobby. The old restaurant became a function room to host meetings for up to 40 people.
2020
We closed our doors for 3 months to minimize the spread of Covid-19. This was the first time since 1993 to stop our operations completely. During the closure, we renovated again, deep cleaned the whole hotel and updated our look.
